You can buy plastic cases in many different colours, which are pretty funky and appeal to younger people. If you are prefering on of these types it likely to be quartz, as it is for using now in the present and not for storing for the future. Ideally it would have an aluminium or rubber casing, and would offer the option for changing the wrist bands.
