2007’s Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games was an undoubted success; it sold amazingly well for the last Olympics and now the 2009 winter Olympics will feature another instalment from the same people who built the last one.

Essentially, the game is really just a tarted up version of a handful of button bashing games that have been featuring over the last 10 years but instead of seeing Sonic, Mario, and Bowser dressed up in gloves, scarves and womens jackets the actual game itself features way more possibilities than ever before as the game itself features new Wii fit technology so you can actually re-enact the movements on screen. This is pretty old hat technology for us really but the game itself has never seen this before which is why game critics from across the board are having a field day over it. What’s more is that the updated winter Olympics events seem to support more imaginative control systems (particularly on the Wii) and this time there is support for the wii balance board in the single player mode. This is brilliant news for many people who would love to get a bit fitter these days and get as much excercise as she/he can.

Personally, I think there is loads left from Sonic and Mario and we have not heard the last of them just yet. I do remember when the 1st Sonic game came out on the Mega Drive and it was the latest and greatest game ever. Now we will be able to see a completely revised version of what came around before hand and I cannot wait to see what they come up with. Now we will be able to see a completely revised version of what has come out previously and I cannot wait to see what it is going to be like!
